Responsibilities include:
Integrating, upgrading, and managing virtual computer systems
Administer, manage, and provision VMWare ESXi virtualized servers running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 / 8 / or 9 operating system
Ensure dataflow by running system health checks for early detection of underlying system issues and is responsible for meshing the different system disciplines (network, architecture, systems, software, and administration) to buildout platform integration initiatives
Provide data transfers between classified and unclassified networks according to prescribed policy and procedures
Support GDTS / SONIC Strike software & hardware deliveries and DRWO
Work with team in the configuration, setup, and operability for GDTS / SONIC Strike to both deliver and retrieve data to/from cloud buckets
Investigate data anomalies, server / file-system issues
Troubleshoot issues discovered during regression testing and provide feedback to software engineers for resolution
Knowledge of CVFS file systems
Knowledge NFS mounted file systems
Provide call-in support as needed
Work with software engineering and system administrators to identify and troubleshoot
Participation in team planning and status meetings
Completing schedules for assigned tasks
Ensuring timely communication of issues that impact assigned tasks
Desired Skills:
System admin of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 / 8
VMware - vSphere and vCenter Administration
Shell/Perl/Python scripting
File system appliance management (NetApp filers etc.)
LDAP Administration
Broad understanding of TCP/IP and transfer protocols, such as ftp, sftp, ftps and https
Essential Linux network service configuration
Email setup and maintenance
Troubleshooting skills and experience
Capable of performing System Administration design & development, and Operations &Sustainment
Capable of performing platform integration and Operations &Sustainment
