SCADA Systems Developer - NASA

Seeking  detail-oriented engineers with familiarity with SCADA (for example Ignition, Wonderware, CIMPLICITY etc.)  systems configuration and development  to support projects using the Ignition software platform. The role involves working with key Ignition modules such as Perspective, Transactional groups, and Gateway configuration and integrating with SQL databases for real-time data logging and analysis.
Key responsibilities
  • Design, develop and implement SCADA/HMI application using Ignition.
  • Configure and manage Ignition Gateway including project backup, security setup, UDTs and tag providers.
  • Develop web-based screens using Perspective Module and container components.
  • Utilize Transactional Groups for efficient and reliable data transfer between real-time data to SQL database.
  • Implement real-time and historical data logging, alarms, and event management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Perform testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning??
  • Ensure best practices in the system design. Security and scalability.
 Required Skills and qualifications.
  •  Bachelors degree in Instrumentation, Controls, Computer or Electrical Engineering
  • Solid Knowledge of HMI design, industrial automation and Python programming. 
  • Proficiency in SQL databases (eg MariaDB, MSSQL, MySQL..)
  • Knowledge of  AB PLC and PXIe communication protocol (e.g OPC UA, Modubus, Ethernet/IP)
Requisition Preferences:
  • Proven experience with Inductive Automation Ignition including Perspective, transactional groups, named queries, and graphical components.
  • Ignition Certification (Core or Gold)
  • Experience with scripting (Python within Ignition)
  • Background in electrical or control systems engineering
  • Familiarity for SQL with data queries
