Stress Analyst - NASA

The Stress Analyst will:
  • Work at the facilities and provide detailed weekly reports to section management and NASA/ES2 customer
  • Create Finite Element Analysis models using FEMAP or Simcenter and use NASTRAN for model solution
  • Post process results and generate structural margins of safety based on NASA standards and hardware requirements
  • Perform hand calculations to generate structural margins of safety when applicable
  • Perfrom damage tolerance analysis using crack growth propagation software NASGRO
  • Generate detailed Structural Analysis Reports
Requisition Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in Engineering and a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • ​Knowledgeable using FEMAP or Simcenter and NASTRAN
  • Have a good foundation for Mechanics of Materials to be able to perform hand calculations for structural margins of safety
  • Knowledgeable of the crack growth propagation software NASGRO
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office tools
Requisition Preferences:
  • ​Prior NASA flight hardware experience
