| Onsite in Tucson, AZ • Leading one or more MIL-STD-882E compliant system safety programs • Performing MIL-STD-882E System Safety Program tasks and analyses, or customer’s approved equivalent • Coordinating with customer safety representatives to gain safety approval from appropriate Safety Review Board authorities • Working across all integrated product teams and lines to properly eliminate hazards or provide effective controls. • Collaborating with Program Management and government approval authorities from program startup through production to demilitarization and disposal backgrounds Key Responsibilities will include: • Performing System Safety Program, Hazard analyses or Design analyses • Briefing safety of the program at technical reviews and as part of the safety approval process • Interpreting system requirements, customer specifications and military standards • Preparing internal and customer reports describing various analyses relevant to the System Safety program Required Skill Sets: • Typically Requires: Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and minimum 8 years of relevant Systems Engineering or Safety Engineering experience. An advanced degree may account for additional years of experience as required for this position. • Experience with: System Safety Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software or Firmware Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent Safety Engineering. Desired Skill Sets: • Experience in command and control systems and/or weapon combat systems • Experience with DoD System Safety Programs • Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and Proposal Development • Ability to solve complex problems by leveraging available resources and research material • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills • Strong interpersonal and project management skills, with the ability to manage a safety program and provide direction to supporting safety personnel • Master’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) |
